Fire Alarm Panels
A fire alarm control panel (FACP) is the controlling component of a fire alarm system which is ideal for small schools, stores, restaurants, and apartment complexes. (Please note that a fire alarm control panel is required under the building code for a majority of new commercial building construction in most countries.) The control panel will receive information from input devices such as smoke detectors and heat detectors. In turn, the panel will process that information and trigger an alarm and/or sirens and strobes, plus dial out to the fire department if found to be necessary.
There are four basic types of fire alarm control panels. There are coded panels, conventional panels, addressable panels, and multiplex systems. A conventional control panel can only detect on/off signals and will use separate wiring circuits called zones to relay pertinent information. The panel should monitor the condition of the detection devices with separate zones used to help pinpoint the location of the alarm. This kind of particular control panel can incorporate inexpensive detection devices.
4S Sphinx features conventional fire alarm control panels with a variety of numbered zones from Fire-Lite by Honeywell. These panels offer the flexibility and extra high reliability found typically only in advanced systems. They are designed with the latest in microprocessor technology to meet the most demanding conventional releasing applications. In addition, with Fire-Lite panels, maintenance Alert LEDs (per zone) will help prevent false alarms by warning of excessive dirt accumulation. The Fire-Lite panels come with pre-programmed and custom application templates.
